Library Of Testing Video Script

Library Of Testing

Hi everyone,

I am Sayali and this is my first YouTube video. I hope you all bear with me till the end. Why is this video for? so, let me tell you 4 stories in short.

  • The first – a newly passed out graduate, has questions about starting a career in testing.
  • The second story is – One of my friends with a career gap of almost 5+ years, wants to start a job in testing and has lots of questions about learning resources.
  • The third one is - a friend who has experience in other fields and wants to switch to IT - and Testing.
  • And the last story – an experienced professional who needs to upgrade skills either to switch a job or as a new requirement in the existing company and has many questions about resources.

Have you noticed that in all stories, the common factor is questions that are related to resources and those questions are like –

  • Which topics do I need to cover as a fresher to get a job in testing?
  • To upgrade XYZ skills, how to choose the best resource, from the searched result, on the internet?
  • I don't like to code. What options do I have to start a career? will I get a job as a functional or manual tester?
  • Isn't it better if I will get everything related to testing in one place?

And eventually, we end up scrolling the search result page, opening multiple tabs, hopping on courses, and leaving the learning in-between.
This happens with all whenever we start learning.

So to resolve this problem we, at The Test Tribe have come up with a solution and it is the Library of Testing.

Before jumping to it, let me brief you about The Test Tribe, - it is proudly India’s Largest Software Testing Community, with an ever-growing global footprint. Creating and enhancing online and offline platforms for Software Testers, where they can Collaborate, Learn and Grow together.

Now, let's have a tour of the Library of testing - a brainchild of TTT.
It is a community-curated directory of Software Testing Learning resources, to help Testers across the globe, choose the right ones for their learning needs.

Type www.libraryoftesting.com in the browser, hit enter, and here we are on the home page.
Scroll down to see all testing-related topics, like – Accessibility, Agile, AI/ML, Automation for API, Web, & Mobile, Database Testing, Exploratory testing, security testing, Testing - foundation, and usability testing.

Let's take one example, the Testing topic is Automation - Web, and let's say I want to learn Selenium with JavaScript.
Click on it opens the resource list sorted, on the basis of upvoted resource, in descending order.

If you click on this blue icon, the resource page opens in a new tab.
Go back to our library, if we click on the card anywhere, the resource opens on the same page, clicking the back button of the browser, navigates us to the library.

If you benefited from the resource, upvote the resource here. this will help other testers, to choose the best resource and hence in saving their time.

Now let's understand, the 'Suggest a Resource' button, opens a google form, if you have your own or recommend someone else resource in any of the forms, like a course, a blog, or a book irrespective of paid or free, share it with us, a better way to help people learn.

All I need to do while submitting this form is –
  • enter your name, here I am entering my name, Sayali Kulkarni.
  • Then email address, - sayali@gmail.com - this is the demo purpose email address but when you submit the form please enter your actual e-mail address.
  • Company name, - iLink Systems. - yes I work here and it's real.
  • Resource category, -- Automation - Web, select from the drop-down.
  • Topic name - Automation Bootcamp Selenium & Java by Kunal Ashar.
  • Resource Type - Course and it paid. If you are submitting a blog select blog, or if it's a book then select a book.
  • And whether the resource is free or paid.
  •  If you are sharing a blog then that blog link will go here, if it's a book then the book link may be, an Amazon/Flipkart/Leanpub, or, any relevant link.
  • And click on submit - that's it. if the course is not listed already, please allow us one week time, to add your resource to the library of testing.

Coming back to the library of testing, here we see Facebook and Twitter sharing buttons.
These will share the current topic with the link to the respective social media.
So, we are here on the selenium with cypress page, clicking on twitter will post selenium with cypress to Twitter, with pre-occupied text.
However, you can add more relevant text along with this resource link, and tweet it. The same will happen to the Facebook.

This sponsored space is for you. If you want your product to be featured in the library of testing.  The same is applicable for top-right side sponsored space.

Be part of India's fastest-growing community, by following it on Twitter and Facebook from here.
You can join us on the discord, and LinkedIn platforms as well - I will provide links in the comments box.

Before I end, do not forget to subscribe to the library of testing, to get delivered newly added resources directly, into your email once a week....🙂
